Geometry ACT Math Prep: Ratios and Areas of Polygons

Sometimes we may need to figure out the areas of several shapes to solve an ACT math problem. We can use basic shapes like rectangles and triangles to find the area of less common figures such as pentagons and hexagons.

The example used in the video will be based off the following ACT math problem below:

Statistics ACT Math Prep: Arithmetic Mean and Averages

For this post, we will cover ACT math examples that involves the arithmetic mean. One type of problem that the ACT likes to use is to start off with a group of scores with a known average. Next, a score is added or subtracted from the original scores, and then the new average of the scores has to be calculated.

Our examples in the video will be based off the following ACT math problem below:

Pre-Algebra ACT Math Prep: Fractions of Amounts

For this ACT math post, we will be covering prealgebra and finding fractions of amounts. Even though working out fractions of groups by hand is simple compared to other concepts, we aid in understanding the concept better by showing the problem worked out by hand, as well as with pictures.
